Dr. Dioquino shared to us some Trends in Classroom Assessment. I found it very helpful for us teachers to be more creative and innovative in our teaching approach.Here are some of them.

Trends in Classroom Assessment

1. Application of knowledge and not isolated facts
2. Integrated skills and not isolated skills
3. Processes and not just outcomes
4. Performance-based tests and not just objective tests
5. Contextualized tasks and not decontextualized tasks.
6. Multiple answers and not just a single answer.
7. Multiple assessment and not just the pen-and -paper assessment
8. Self-evaluation and not just external evaluation
9. Informal tests and not just standardized test
10. Continuous and not just sporadic assessment

Dr. Dioquino discussed to us The Classroom Management Tips. It will help us to improve our classroom management skills and good rapport to our students. Here are some of them.

1. Keep a clean and attractive environment
2. Be consistent with discipline
3. Do not make impossibble threats
4. Be flexible
5. Use humor
6. Discipline individual students quietly and privately
7. Do not punish the whole class for the offenses of an individual
8. Never make an offense personal
9. Avoid public arguments
10. Know when to ask for help

My Professor in Educational Technology, Dr. Alice Dioquino, discussed to us the things needed to survive as a teacher and she called it "Kit to Survial" . It was fun and i wish i could have all these things.

Toothpick-to remind you to pick out good qualities.
Rubber band-to remind you to be flexible. Things might not always go the way you want, but I will work out.
Band aid- to remind you to heal hurt feelings.
Eraser- to remind you that everyone makes mistakes and that’s ok.
Chewing gum- to remind you stick with it and never give up.
Candy kiss - to remind you that everyone needs a kiss or a hug everyday.
