Dr. Dioquino shared to us some Trends in Classroom Assessment. I found it very helpful for us teachers to be more creative and innovative in our teaching approach. Here are some of them.

Trends in Classroom Assessment

1. Application of knowledge and not isolated facts
2. Integrated skills and not isolated skills
3. Processes and not just outcomes
4. Performance-based tests and not just objective tests
5. Contextualized tasks and not decontextualized tasks.
6. Multiple answers and not just a single answer.
7. Multiple assessment and not just the pen-and -paper assessment
8. Self-evaluation and not just external evaluation
9. Informal tests and not just standardized test
10. Continuous and not just sporadic assessment
